Jazz concert with Anaïs Drago

Solitudo, in fact, is anything but a monochrome album and concert, but instead astonishes with its multitude of sounds and harmonic and melodic richness. Part rigorous scientist, part virtuoso enchantress and dedicated priestess, Anaïs Drago seems to be intent on extracting, one at a time, all the infinite potential voices of the violin, as if to exhaust its ancient repertoire, then inventing new and daring conformations, even alien to our ears. Through the skillful use of effects, loop stations and overdubs, the strings of the violin (both electric and acoustic) are multiplied to orchestral volumes. The musical material draws cues from literary texts, memories or reflections on contemporary life. Tied firmly to each other, as different as they are, the pieces also reveal the very numerous musical influences of Anaïs, who counts in her background experience studying and performing classical and baroque music, folk, world music, pop, progressive rock, fusion, and finally jazz.
