The Südtiroler Krebshilfe / Assistenza Tumori Alto Adige presents an exhibition dedicated to the artist Beate Gantz (1954–2024), one of the most influential figures in South Tyrolean art for over four decades.

In her extensive body of work, Gantz combines drawing, painting and mixed techniques to create layered visual worlds in which the body, memory, natural forces and urban architecture resonate poetically with one another. Her expressive, colour-rich pictorial language weaves together landscape, figure and urban space into compositions of great emotional power.

The artist passed away in autumn 2024 following a cancer diagnosis. The exhibition is therefore not simply an art-historical retrospective, but an act of remembrance for a significant body of work that shaped the regional art scene for decades — accessible to both art specialists and a wider audience.

The project also carries a dimension of solidarity: it stands as a gesture of closeness to all people in South Tyrol who have been or are currently affected by cancer, building a connection between cultural heritage, social relevance and collective compassion.
