History and Cultural Commitment of the Institut Rosmini in Bolzano

The conference aims to provide an overview of the long and continuous cultural activities that the Rosmini Institute has organized in Bolzano and beyond since 1955—the year it was officially founded—up to the present day.

Excerpt from the academic curriculum vitae of Prof. Danilo Castellano.

Danilo Castellano (1945), formerly tenured associate professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Udine (1983–2000), extraordinary professor (2000–2003), and subsequently full professor of Political Philosophy at the same university (2003–2015), he taught Philosophy of Law in the Faculty of Law at the University of Udine from its inception until 2015. In the Faculty of Law, he also taught courses on the Theory of Human Rights and Bio-law. He taught Philosophy of Law and History of Political Doctrines at the Military Academy of Modena. Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Udine, he was a member of and lecturer in the Doctoral School of Law at the University of Padua. He is a member of both the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences of the Kingdom of Spain and the Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of the Kingdom of Spain. He served on the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Udine and, subsequently, on the Ethics Committee of the Friuli Centrale University Health Authority. Former Director of the “Antonio Rosmini” International Institute of European Studies in Bolzano, of which he is currently Vice-President, he is Vice-President of the International Union of Catholic Jurists. He edits a series for Edizioni Scientifiche Italiane in Naples and co-edits another series for Giappichelli in Turin. He is the author of some twenty books and approximately four hundred scientific publications.
