From the parking place you were accompanied by hiking guide Richard, first along the forest road and then the path through light larch forest. After about 2 hours you reach the Klosteralm hut (2,152 m above sea level) which is situated in a wonderful panoramic position. From there you continue along trail no. 23 until you reach the picturesque Saxalbsee lake (2,482 m above sea level) and you were rewarded with a magnificent view of the Pfossental Valley and the numerous three thousand metre peaks in the Nature Park Texel Group. According to tradition, the Carthusian monks, who lived exclusively without meat, used the mountain lake centuries ago to cover their fish needs.
