Hiking day with Hans Kammerlander: Sarner Valley to "Durnholzerjöchl"

Hike in the rear Sarntal Valley to the Durnholzerjöchl (Karnspitze) Get out and about with the famous extreme mountaineer, Hans Kammerlander, and in the process enjoy the impressive alpine landscape, receive tips from a mountain professional, ask questions and listen to tales of exciting experiences! Programme: We take the bus via Bolzano to the rustic Sarntal Valley as far as Pens (1460 m). This valley is particularly well known for its craft, quill embroidery, and apart from this is largely agricultural. We hike along trail no. 12 through the Kirchberg Valley across alpine meadows up to the Durnholzerjöchl (2235 m). The sportiest among us can then ascend a further 170 metres up to the Karnspitze. Our midday break is taken at the Durnholzerjöchl, and since unfortunately there is nowhere to stop for refreshments, we will eat from our own rucksacks! After the break we descend to the idyllic Durnholzersee lake (1548 m); a “coffee break” can be made here. We will be met at the end of the lake by the bus for the return journey to Algund.
