In 2026, the Herbert Pixner Projekt will perform three concerts in South Tyrol.

Everything began in 2005 with the recording of the first album. Since then, the musical project surrounding the tireless multi-instrumentalist and composer Herbert Pixner has grown steadily. Pixner often works with concise, direct, and ironic references, bordering on sarcasm, and is a true sound artist with a subversive spirit. He enjoys using his musical output as a form of social provocation, though never in a moralizing tone.

The free and spontaneous musical interplay between tradition, punk, blues, classical music, psychedelia, and their progressive connections—through bold arrangements and unusual instrumentation—combined with an immense joy of playing and an endless desire to improvise, has become the trademark of the Herbert Pixner Projekt. With it, they have been effortlessly filling the largest concert halls in the German-speaking world for years.

In a short time, this unconventional instrumental ensemble has evolved from an insider tip to one of the most sought-after and celebrated acts in the entire German-speaking music scene—and beyond. To date, they have performed over 2,000 sold-out concerts, collaborated with various orchestras, and released more than two dozen albums.
