Guided Schlern Crossing via the Tierser Alpl refuge

A varied traverse featuring a steep ascent, secured sections, and impressive mountain scenery. This route reveals the Schlern from its distinctly alpine side.



Tour description:

After taking the cable car up to the Seiser Alm, we begin our hike towards the Panorama Trail and traverse the slopes of the Goldknopf to the foot of the Rosszahn ridge. We ascend in switchbacks to the Rosszahn Saddle and soon reach the Tierser Alpl Hut, where we stop for lunch. The descent follows the Bärenloch, which is secured in places with steel cables. Lower down, the trail leads us through the Tschamin Valley to Weißlahnbad.



Walking time: approx. 5–6 hours

Ascent: approx. 650 m

Descent: approx. 1,300 m

Distance: approx. 17 km

Difficulty: moderate; sure-footedness and good basic fitness required

Refreshment stop: Tierser Alpl Hut
