Legends, nature, and historic places accompany us on this varied and engaging hike. Old paths, special viewpoints, and peaceful alpine meadows tell the story of the area around Tiers.

Tour description:

We start with a ride on the Cabrio cable car up to Frommer Alm and continue with the König Laurin 1 cable car to the mid-station. From there, we first walk to the Eggental Mountain Cinema, enjoying panoramic views of the Latemar. We then follow the Legends Trail across the Tummel and Angel meadows to the Haniger Schwaige, where we take a short break. Afterwards, we descend towards Plafötsch Alm and continue along the trail to the junction with the forest road leading into the Tschamin Valley. Our route then brings us to the Steger Sawmill, where we visit the Nature Park information centre.

At the end of the hike, we visit the Schlern–Rosengarten Nature Park information centre located at the Steger Sawmill. Unfortunately, the historic Venetian sawmill cannot currently be demonstrated due to damage caused by a severe storm. Nevertheless, the visit is well worthwhile: in the carefully restored sawmaster’s residence, visitors gain fascinating insights into traditional alpine craftsmanship, geology, and the flora and fauna of the nature park, with audio stations, a small cinema room, and interactive exhibition elements.

We finally return to the cable car via the “Forest & Water” nature trail.
