Golden Dolomites - Autumn hiking in the Rosengarten | Catinaccio with hiking guide Helga Tschager

Ascent from Welschnofen | Nova Levante with the cable cars to the Kölner hut. From there we hike along the upper Masarè path to the Christomannos monument and on to the Paolina hut, where we stop for refreshments (for a fee). On the hiking trail [9] we hike to the Hotel Moseralm and further to the Lake Carezza. From there we take the bus back to the starting point in Welschnofen | Nova Levante.

During our hike we pass under ancient stone pine trees and take our fill of the incomparable panorama of the golden Dolomite mountains. The red-golden coloured larch trees glow in the sunlight, the steel-blue sky above us relaxes us. Again and again, to the left and right of the path, you hear the warning whistle of the marmots, which they emit when danger approaches. Helga likes to tell the legend of the queen of the marmots there - with a view of the climbing wall of the Masarè and the face of the giant on the opposite Latemar, past the hidden blooming edelweiss. Above us, the huge rock faces of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio glow ochre-red and bring greetings from the last roses of King Laurin's kingdom.
