GEOTREKKING: Peitler/Sass de Putia loop hike led by geologists

Impressive loop hike with stunning views of the Dolomites. The main focus of the hike is the geological history of the Dolomites surrounding the Sass de Putia (Peitlerkofel). Participants will also learn about the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site and the protected areas in South Tyrol that were key to the region’s recognition as a World Heritage Site.

Organized by the Department for Nature, Landscape and Spatial Development of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano – South Tyrol and the Dolomites UNESCO Foundation.

Difficulty: Sure-footedness required. (13 km, 550 m elevation gain, approx. 4.5 hours walking time)
