2024 edition of the Spring Days organised by FAI, Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano.
Thanks to the closure of the road to traffic, the village of St Mauritius near Bolzano can once again become a destination for Sunday walks for the people of Bolzano, as it was at the beginning of the 20th century. This area has been renowned since prehistoric times for its sunny southern location and sulphurous thermal waters. Possibly the site of a pagan sanctuary, during the Middle Ages it saw the building of a church dedicated to St Maurice. In a cultural landscape characterised by the cultivation of vines, visitors can admire unprecedented views and discover the history of an imposing and wonderful estate, the Anreiterhof. The walk through the vineyards belonging to the Brixen diocese will provide an unprecedented view of the Bolzano basin, from the Rosengarten/Catinaccio to the slopes of the Roen mountain. Finally, the Apprentice Tour Guides® will take you on a discovery tour of the 14th-century and Baroque frescoes in the St. Mauritius church.
