An exhibition entitled Plâtre de Paris in South Tyrol shows works inspired by Paris and its surroundings.

The Cité International des Arts Residence prizewinners 2022 Philipp Putzer and Mischa Sander are showing the fruits of their study stay in Paris at the Prisma Gallery of the South Tyrolean Artists' Association. An exhibition entitled Plâtre de Paris in South Tyrol shows works inspired by Paris and its surroundings. Starting from accumulated drawings, sketches, found objects and photographs, these were combined and changed in a continuing production: Forms are transformed, move towards imagination and fantasies, become relics and found objects of our time, reminiscent of architectural fragments and ruins. Architecture and individual historical structural elements flow into their works. Important materials for them are concrete and plastics. The concrete pieces are produced according to special techniques, filled into moulds built from old furniture and other objects or from soft clay moulds. The results are fragments with cracks and ornamental approaches as memory stores, which present themselves in the form of organic sculptural architectural elements. The bodies are complemented by large-scale drawings that reveal connections between architecture and vegetation. The exhibition will open on 17 March at 7 pm at Galerie Prisma and will remain open until 29 April from Tuesday to Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm.
