Presentation of the book "Il sole di sera" by Sabrina Grementieri (in Italian), published by Love
Marianna is a young woman who lives in a camper van and works seasonally in hotels. Fifteen years earlier, after a brutal assault that caused her partial memory loss, she left her family, with whom she had a terrible relationship, and chose a solitary life. No ties, no affections, always ready to leave at the first sign of discomfort. When her van has a sudden breakdown, Marianna is forced to stop in an ancient restored village in the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines: an enchanting place, populated by hospitable and curious people. While waiting for her mobile home to be repaired, she finds a job at the local restaurant: she is an excellent waitress, and Benno, the owner, is thrilled. A strong attraction develops between the two, which Marianna tries to suppress: she has no intention of settling in those mountains, so it's better not to get attached to anyone. But the restaurant's cook, Anita, is stunned by the girl's resemblance to a childhood friend of hers. And she starts investigating. What emerges from the past disrupts Marianna's life, as she finds herself having to deal with truths that have been hidden for too long. Stopping and facing them will be the only way to find some peace and stop running away.
