Elisa Alberti – Intuition and System – Exhibition & Book Presentation
At SKB ARTES, artist Elisa Alberti presents new works on canvas in various formats. Her work is characterized by clear lines, a reduced formal language, and a soft, mostly monochromatic color palette. In addition to working on paper, wood, and canvas, Alberti increasingly incorporates sculptural elements made of aluminum.
Her compositions follow geometric principles—perfect semicircles, curved lines, and horizontally or vertically placed stripes—that oscillate between surface and structure, intuition and system. The title of the exhibition refers precisely to this dynamic interplay.
As part of the exhibition opening, a conversation will take place between the artist and art critic Nina Schedlmayer. Of Alberti’s work, Schedlmayer writes:
“When teardrop-shaped elements nestle together or a form rotates multiple times, an immense visual dynamism emerges.”
On the occasion of the presentation, Alberti's new catalogue will also be released, offering an in-depth insight into her work from recent years. Complementing the publication, two limited edition screen prints in the same format as the catalogue have been produced and will be presented for the first time during the exhibition.
Elisa Alberti was born in 1992 in Kiel and grew up in Bruneck, South Tyrol. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Gunter Damisch and Christian Schwarzwald. She lives and works in Vienna.
