Documentary - Villaggio Lancia nella storia della zona industriale di Bolzano
In the immediate postwar period, the Lancia factory on Via Volta in Bolzano provided stable employment to many workers from all over Italy, especially from Veneto. Many of them, unable to afford housing, found accommodation in the so-called “Lancia village”: 34 barracks on Via Volta that served as dormitories for around 600 workers. The film tells – through historical photos collected by Marco Ribetto and interviews with the people who lived there – the daily life of this small suburb; a humble but dignified existence, marked by hard work, solidarity, and also moments of leisure.
