Concert: Duo Monica Righi + Ivan Maliboshka

The duo was formed in Piacenza in 2021 when pianist Ivan Maliboshka and cellist Monica Righi met. The musicians gained experience at the Conservatorio Nicolini thanks to the valuable advice of some teachers, they specialised with the Klimt Quartet at the chamber music festival in Livorno and won a performance scholarship. In 2023, the duo won first prize in the chamber music category at the 7th edition of the Alberghini Competition, first prize at the ‘Val Tidone’ International Chamber Music Competition and was among the finalists of the ‘Amici della Musica di Verona’ prize, held in the splendid halls of the city's Literary Society. In 2024, the musicians won first prize at the prestigious international chamber music competition ‘Giulio Rospigliosi’. The duo performs extensively and plays at important chamber music festivals and exhibitions.
