Concert by the Frangarto Music Band
The Frangart Band invites you to enjoy an hour of traditional music from powerful marches to emotional and captivating melodies.
The Frangart Band was founded in 1972 and currently has 47 members. While chairman Jakob Obkircher is responsible for organisational matters, the musical direction of the ensemble has been in the hands of bandmaster Hugo Laimer for the past two years. As conductor, he places special emphasis on a varied and wide-ranging repertoire, which is rehearsed throughout the year in two weekly rehearsals and changed several times a year.
Depending on the occasion, the musicians’ stands feature arrangements of symphonic compositions as well as works of traditional brass band music, complemented by modern pieces, including music from the world of rock and pop. As presumably one of the few bands in the region, the Frangart Band still has three founding members among its ranks, who have pursued their passion for more than 50 (!) years with undiminished enthusiasm.
