Some encounters resemble a mirror image – deeply connected, detached from space and time. Alexander Wierer and Rasmus Ramö Streith met for the first time in summer 2024 in Paris during their residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts. At that time, the Olympic Games were taking place in Paris, turning the city into a guarded isolated space. The July heat added to this, further paralyzing people and children. Under these circumstances, a friendship grew. Casts of shoe soles, cake leftovers, a ticket machine intertwine in the exhibition no, no flowers into a narrative. They tell of the traces of the path taken, of celebrated parties, and of the receipt of a friendship that runs deep.
SONIC REACTION: Lukas König - Zoe Pia
Chemical reactions are processes in which substances with new properties are formed – during which energy is released or absorbed. Similar processes also occur during this year’s Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige in the field of improvised music. In the series “Jazz Chemistry,” two musicians from the invited bands meet and engage in sonic experiments. Their spontaneous musical reactions – the “Sonic Reactions” – create new connections: fleeting sound molecules or stable musical bonds.
