The Nutcracker is now widely regarded as one of the most beautiful ballets within the classical repertoire. Composed in the late 1800s to the wonderful music of Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovski and choreography by Marius Petipa, over the years the ballet has been the subject of numerous "choreographic reinterpretations" by great names in dance.
Blanca Li, an award-winning Spanish choreographer, dancer, actress and director, who has always been eager to confront this marvellous, timeless masterpiece, now gives us her own modern version inspired by The Nutcracker: a hip-hop style version, under the banner of métissage and with a truly incredible corps de ballet.
A new and fantastic interpretation that dominates Tchaikovski's musical masterpiece and reinterprets it in an urban style, in an amazing way. On stage, eight dancers nourish their talent with their Hispanic cultural roots and an extremely authentic Iberian hip hop movement that is very close to its New York, Caribbean and Californian origins.
