Cinque Torri: a jewel in the Dolomites near Cortina

The 5 Torri are one of the symbols of Cortina d'Ampezzo. They consist of steep towers that once formed an entire large block of rock.

The hike begins at the Da Strobel hut, with an easy crossing path that later climbs gently. The Alta Via delle Dolomiti no. 440 leads to the Rifugio Scoiattolo, known for its beautiful location at the foot of the Cinque Torri. Circumnavigate the impressive rock formation and then follow the gentle descent path to the Cinque Torri hut. Magnificent views of the Tofane, Averau, Hexenstein and Lagazuoi. Descent into the valley to the starting point. Backpacking provisions or refreshments possibility. Difficulty: medium. Time: 8.30 am.-4.00 pm. Walking time: 4 hours. Difference in altitude: 350m.
