South Tyrol, 1961:
Paul no longer feels tied to his mountain village. He wants to move to Munich to study art. But one night, a series of bomb attacks shakes the region, claiming even a fatal victim. Paul’s brother Anton is implicated in the attacks and is forced to go into hiding. Unwilling to leave Anton’s wife Anna and their young son on their own, Paul postpones his plans and helps out on the family farm.
