Burgen-Spectaculum in Prissian: SAGS Quartett - CANCELLED

The saxophone quartet "SAGS" came together through their common South Tyrolean origins and energetic passion for chamber music. The musical training of the four young saxophonists Sonja Wallnöfer, Greta Franzelin, Alex Designori e Sonja Oberkofler took place in various places from Innsbruck and Linz in Austria to Tilburg in the Netherlands. The ensemble's repertoire includes original works and arrangements in the field of classical and contemporary music, which reflect the various tonal facets of the saxophone. The quartet's creativity and curiosity for other art forms and their fusion with the musical ones led them to new collaborations and interdisciplinary performances. Longing - a feeling as if one were living dreamily in the past and at the same time questioning the future, searching for what fulfils or connects one, comparable to the feeling of home, the feeling of a unique origin. We all know the longing for people, for places, for unique moments. A concept as strong as longing is difficult to force into a clear definition, especially since it can be interpreted very individually. The four musicians are also aware of this: they want to give their longing a sound, using the different facets of the saxophone and additionally merging them with the poetry of the word. The musicians use texts and poems by the renowned South Tyrolean authors Bertrand Huber and Marco Forni, written in the three national languages of South Tyrol, to underline both the cultural diversity of our country and the linguistic bond within the quartet. By including the three mother tongues represented in the quartet, a strong sign of longing is set. For a harmonious, social "togetherness". The concert participants are taken on a journey through time with selected works from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. It is a great concern of the "SAGS Quartett" to take the listeners on an exciting journey through the various emotional states of longing. Because when wood meets gold and poetry meets music, new images are created in the mind and strong feelings in the heart! Due to illness the concert has to be CANCELLED!
