Brenner - Havelka - Plessl broken-yet-holding Satellite Show Bolzano/Bozen
The installation is an extension of the current exhibition "broken-yet-holding" by the artistic collective Brenner-Havelka-Plessl, which is simultaneously on view at the Gefängnis / Le Carceri gallery in Caldaro.
The desire to foster empathy and a deeper understanding through a form of dialogical communication is what led Brenner-Havelka-Plessl to combine their individual skills. Their debut exhibition "broken-yet-holding" presents the public with the collective’s transformative process, in which they leave behind old ways of working in order to build a new shared identity. The creative process—initially disorienting, later revealing a new interpretive collage—symbolizes liberation from social stigma and prejudice.
At SKB ARTES, the installation Fragment 02 is on display. It connects selected elements of the collaboratively created paintings shown in Caldaro. Details from these works tell further facets of mental health, expressed through stapling and stitching. A live transmission between the two exhibition sites makes the fragmentation and multiplicity perceptible within the space once again.
Exhibition duration: May 30th - June 28th
