MARIAPIA VELADIANO: "QUEL CHE CI TIENE VIVI"

Helping families that do not work: that is the goal of the young protagonist, a lawyer with a painful past, difficult to forget but also difficult to remember. And, in a way, that is also the aim of his wife Bianca, the psychoanalyst he turned to at the beginning of his career precisely to put the pieces of his childhood back together. They did not seem compatible - she was a believer, slim, vegetarian and refined, he was materialistic and disillusioned, overweight, raised alone and in poverty - and yet instead of an analysis, a love affair was born. Perhaps because they speak the same language, the one shared only by those who have survived an indelible trauma, but who also have the courage to endure and move on. Perhaps because they both need to try and fix the world. This is what drives the lawyer in and out of the courts with furious determination, to give a chance to people who, like him, 'are not seen'. One winter evening he meets a lonely, cold child who speaks with curious wisdom. A child who disappears and seems never to reappear. A child who reminds him of himself. And when he discovers who he is, his mission becomes an obsession: he must succeed in saving him.
