REPLICA is a world premiere as part of Bolzano Danza 2026, born from the encounter between two artistic couples: Michele Abbondanza and Antonella Bertoni, among the most acclaimed names in Italian dance theatre with over thirty years of work with their Compagnia, and Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi, one of the most compelling voices on the international scene in recent years. Two generations in dialogue, in a work built on mutual exchange, where the artistic journey of Abbondanza and Bertoni emerges as a living archive brought to life through new perspectives.
On stage, figures hover between the human and the animal, childhood and ritual. Even the simplest of gestures — combing one's hair — takes on ambiguous meanings, oscillating between care, discipline and loss of control.
A performance that is a place of transformation, a return to the dancer's body and the wonder of theatrical play, shared through a fresh gaze capable of reawakening desires, energies and imagination.
