The St. Bartholomew’s Day on Corno del Renon is a popular festivity with a long tradition

The St. Bartholomew’s Day on Corno del Renon is a popular festivity with a long tradition.

It is the day when herders start to bring the cattle down from the mountain pastures. The festivity on Rittner Horn/Corno del Renon starts with music by the local musicians at 10 a.m. on the meadow close to the middle-station of Corno del Renon's gondola. Local associations prepare different dishes like grilled sausages, cakes and sweets. The cattle collection starts at noon. After passing the whole summer on the meadows around Rittner Horn/Corno del Renon the local farmers and Saltner (shepherds) bring the cattle back to the valley.
