A story of the life of 'the Sentinel of the Dolomites' Carlo Budel

Reaching the highest point of the Marmolada, the Queen of the Dolomites, gives you an adrenalin rush. Living there, alone, for a hundred days in a row, is a life-changing experience. An account of the life of "the Sentinel of the Dolomites" Carlo Budel, who quit his job a few years ago to embrace the mountains and become the caretaker of the Punta Penìa Hut, on the Marmolada at an altitude of 3,343 metres. In the mountains, Carlo finds his way. He feels that this is his destiny: to become the guardian of the Marmolada. Everything, at an altitude of 3,343 metres, takes on an extreme flavour, from the explosion of colour at dawn, to the terrible force of storms and wind. Standing suspended between earth and sky, at certain moments it seems as if one is touching the border between life and death.
