Profile: From the very beginning, MeranOJazz was tasked with bringing exemplary performances of jazz and Afro-American improvised music to Merano. The aim was and is to bring together the most important stylistic representatives from these genres in a small, fine musical event in Merano. The musicians and groups that have performed at the Merano Jazz Festival since the turn of the century are among the most famous in the world and can be found in a prominent place in any relevant encyclopaedia. They read like a who's who of the scene.
