British musician Kit Downes, once celebrated as a jazz prodigy at the Royal Academy, has long expanded the vocabulary of the modern piano with countless nuances. At the parish church of Gries, he turns to one of his great passions: the organ. Downes approaches the instrument not in a traditional way, but as a multifaceted sound generator, using its stops like the frequencies of a synthesizer to create improvised music full of surprises.
