Hazal wünscht sich ein Leben. Trotz vieler Bewerbungen wird sie nie zu einem Vorstellungsgespräch eingeladen. Stattdessen sitzt sie in einer Bildungsmaßnahme vom Jobcenter fest, die ihr auch keine neuen Möglichkeiten eröffnet.

Hazal vuole costruirsi una vita. Nonostante abbia fatto domanda per molti lavori, non viene invitata a nessun colloquio. Al contrario, è bloccata in un programma di formazione presso il centro per l'impiego, che non le apre alcuna nuova opportunità.

Hazal wants to build a life. Despite applying for many jobs, she is not invited to a single interview. Instead, she is stuck in a training programme at the job centre, which doesn't open up any new opportunities for her.

Geboren 1986 in Berlin. Sie studierte Theater und Medien an der Universität Bayreuth, Philosophie und Soziologie an der Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) und Dokumentarfilmregie an der Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. 2009 drehte sie ihren ersten Kurzfilm, 2012 schuf sie für die Humboldt-Box die elfminütige Videoinstallation Kanak Sprak Bist Du zum Thema Kiezdeutsch. Ihr Film Insel 36 (2014) und ihr Abschlussfilm Dil Leyla (2016) gewannen nationale und internationale Auszeichnungen.

Nata a Berlino nel 1986. Ha studiato teatro e media all'Università di Bayreuth, filosofia e sociologia all'Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) e regia di documentari alla Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Realizza il suo primo cortometraggio nel 2009 e nel 2012 crea la videoinstallazione di undici minuti Kanak Sprak Bist Du per l'Humboldt Box sul tema del tedesco di quartiere. Il suo film Insel 36 (2014) e il suo film di laurea Dil Leyla (2016) hanno vinto premi nazionali e internazionali.

Born in 1986 in Berlin, she studied theatre and media at the University of Bayreuth, philosophy and sociology at the Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) and documentary film directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. In 2009, she directed her first short film; in 2012, she created the 11-minute video installation Kanak Sprak Bist Du, about the German dialect spoken by young people in multiethnic communities, for the Humboldt Box. Her 2014 film Insel 36 and her 2016 graduation film Dil Leyla won national and international awards.
